Joyce had a robust work ethic and spent many years as a laundress at Huntsville Hospital. In her early years she labored at Boleys Bakery in Huntsville and Camp New Moon in Baysville. She loved to read and spent many hours knitting and crocheting, and she had an actual ardour for quilting and stitching. Many folks have obtained the fruits of her labour, polar bigboy as she actually enjoyed making quilts as marriage ceremony and baby presents. She earned many ribbons for her quilts at the Stisted Fair. Joyce liked to bake, and her pecan pies were second to none and in season she liked to make jams, jellies, and salsa.
Bruce was a gentle, quiet man who had a wonderful dry humour and Polar Bigboy wit. During his time within the hospital, the nurses talked about how they loved his humour and I usually heard them chuckle. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation could be appreciated by the household.
