Don't send your scrap car to someone who doesn't treat it properly, you don't want any of the chemicals from the car being tipped down the drain and harming your environment.

Let's say you have a 4-door car. Divide your clutter clearing efforts into 4 zones. These zones include the driver's area, the passenger's area, the space behind the driver and the space behind the passenger. Decide which areas are most important and address those first. Your trunk will come later, as usually that area is a job in itself.

In some cases, if the car still has some considerable value, car removers will actually pay you cash on the spot in exchange for ownership of the vehicle. Cars are valuable commodities and most removers will be willing to pay for any make and model of a car if it is still in good shape. If you are concerned about the environment, many removers are very good about recycling what they can and responsibly disposing of those car parts that cannot be recycled, such as car batteries.

Do- It-Yourself--Of course, this is not for everyone. If you can do mechanical work, change your own oil and filter. Many specs and repair manuals can be found online for those wanting the challenge. If you want to keep them toasty you can invest in some grip heaters also. Now Grip heaters are a bit limited as they really only work the palm of your hand. With the hand guards in place as well your fingers will thank you. Plus, if your bike has that kind of ruff and tumble look going for it, they'll fit right in.

scrapyard finder With a piece of paper and tape measure in hand, measure the distance between all the bolts. Start from the center of the bolt, and measure across to the center of the opposite one. Keep a diagram on your paper and put down the measurements on the lines. Next, measure the distance to the bolt directly next to it. If you do the diagram to scale, you can punch the holes out and lay the diagram over the spare tires you're shopping for.

When you recycle cars, you have less mass going to our landfills (who hasn't seen a car crushed into a tiny square on TV) by taking any parts from the interior or exterior of the car that have the potential to be used on an existing vehicle. This helps people who need reasonably priced car parts and helps the environment at the same time.
