Junk Yards And How They Work
It was a man-made mountain of long, metal strips, each strip about 1 foot wide, 10 feet long and less than 2 inches thick. This debris stretched as least 30 feet long and more than 10 feet high. How many of those metal strips were in that pile? Hundreds? Thousands?
2) The junk yard. While you might think you are above visiting a junk yard, are you above saving a lot of money? Probably not. A quick stop in at the local junk yard might save you a lot of money compared to a new air filter. And, even better, this ties directly into point #1. A friend of my, Robert, needed an auto part so he looked online and found a junk yard. The 1995 volkswagen jetta shipped him a part that was almost new and he couldn't have been happier. Just cause an air filter is used, doesn't mean it's very used!
Place your best items in the front - You have only few seconds to make a good impression. Either the shoppers will drive by or they will stop. By keeping your best stuff outside you are telling the shoppers there are more quality stuff inside.
This is true for both new and used parts, but I would highly recommend only buying used auto parts online if it is your only recourse. Used parts can be very difficult to determine quality even with the product in hand, much less through someone's web page who is trying to sell it to you.
Grouping things together can be a good idea. CDs or DVDs, for example, could be sold as a pack of five rather than individually. You are more likely to sell them all, rather than have one or two left behind.
A common situation you may find yourself in is not being ready for the level of material you are reading. A little more study at the basic level and perhaps simply putting the material away until you are ready may be the answer. Some advanced topics will not make sense without base knowledge. Due to the vast scope of some subjects it might be hard to cover it in one product or course series.
lkq Before placing your yard sale posters on someone's lawn, be sure to ask permission from the homeowner. Although some cities claim rights to the strip of land along the curb, many homeowners are either unaware or do not care, and thus may take offense. Just like any professional Realtor, get the homeowner's approval before you prop a sign on their lawn. In addition, telephone poles, stop signs and other official city equipment is never appropriate to hang a personal sign. Rather, park one of your vehicles along a major road with your yard sale signs in the back window.
Keep in mind that most items shouldn't always be ignored at the sale. If an item your interested in can be verified as being brand-new or unused (i.e. in original packaging, still disassembled, etc.), or you feel very comfortable on an item, then your making a better buying decision.
