The railroad is investing billions of dollars in its network to improve reliability, increase capacity and ensure its high standards. The record investment will result in the repair and replacement of track infrastructure such as ballast and rail ties and a variety of efficiency improvements across the network.
This includes repainting, resurfacing and doubling track in numerous areas. Two bridges will be upgraded to accommodate heavier loads and more frequent freight traffic.
